Enter through the Main Gate and up the driveway. The Stone House is directly on your left. Feel free to park in front of the garage doors.

To make your stay even more comfortable, we offer a personalized grocery shopping service. Imagine arriving to find your favorite snacks, drinks, and ingredients for your favorite meals already stocked in the kitchen.

How it Works:

1. Place Your Order: Simply fill out our grocery order form and email to [email protected], we'll send back a payment authorization form and confirm your order. Please note that orders must be placed at least 72 hours prior to your check-in date.
2. Share Your Preferences: Let us know your dietary restrictions, favorite brands, and any specific requests.
3. Relax and Enjoy: We'll take care of the rest. Your groceries will be delivered and neatly placed in the kitchen before your arrival.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind:

• Estimated Costs and Payment: We'll provide you with an estimated cost and pre-authorize your credit card for this amount. Within 48 hours of delivery, we'll settle the final invoice, adjusting the pre-authorization accordingly. Please note that a delivery fee applies to all orders.
• Dietary Restrictions and Allergies: Please be sure to specify any dietary restrictions or allergies on your order form. We'll do our best to accommodate your needs, but we cannot guarantee the complete absence of allergens in the property or delivered groceries.
• Item Availability: We cannot guarantee the availability of all items on your list. In such cases, we'll substitute with similar items or contact you for alternatives.

A Culinary Institute of America graduate, he has held key positions at The Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, MA, and served as Vice President of Food and Beverage Operations for the Main Street Hospitality Group. Alberg is renowned for his dedication to local sourcing and the farm-to-table movement in the Berkshires.

Stephen F. Kerzner is a seasoned chef and culinary educator with over fifteen years of experience in fine dining, catering, and hospitality. A Schenectady County Community College graduate, he has held executive roles at Mazzone Hospitality, Salt and Char, and Yono’s/DP Brasserie. A Rising Star Chef honoree and guest chef at the James Beard House, he excels in menu development, staff training, and large-scale events. Currently, he teaches culinary arts at SUNY Cobleskill while crafting bespoke private dining experiences.

To access the property, follow the instructions sent in our pre-arrival message a few days before check-in. We look forward to meeting you in-person at check-in to show you around the house and ensure you're settled in. We'll provide an access code for your use during your stay. Should you have any issues, please send us a message.

Check-in time is 4:00 PM. We can sometimes arrange an early check-in, so please contact us if you plan to arrive early and we'll do our best to accommodate you (unfortunately, we cannot promise this). If you are arriving early, refer to the “local area guide” section and be sure to pick up any groceries or supplies on the way.

Cell service with the major carriers (AT&T, Verizon) is typically pretty good, but feel free to connect to the WiFi and enable WiFi calling.

The home's water comes from an artesian well that we condition further. Bring refillable bottles for your adventures.

Our home utilizes a septic system, so we kindly ask that you be mindful of what goes down the drains and toilets. Please dispose of feminine products, wipes, and other paper goods in the waste bins provided, and be mindful of toilet paper usage. This helps prevent clogs and blockages, avoiding unpleasant situations and additional fees. Thank you for your thoughtfulness.

TVs throughout the home are available with built-in streaming. Many have Roku's.

Our home theater offers an immersive cinematic experience, featuring a 110-inch projector screen, surround sound, and theater seating. With Roku streaming integrated, you have access to a vast array of channels and content, ensuring endless entertainment options. Whether you're watching the latest blockbuster or binge-watching your favorite series, our home theater provides the perfect setting for relaxation and enjoyment. 

Indulge in our inviting pool and the well-appointed upstairs bar during your stay. The upstairs bar features a coffee machine, extra wine glasses, a beverage fridge, and a comfortable seating area, providing the perfect setting to unwind and enjoy your favorite drinks.

Extra towels and linens may be found in the upstairs hall closet and laundry room.

The office on the first floor is locked and not intended for guest access.

We have a curated selection of board games and playing cards in the game room. Feel free to enjoy these! We just ask you to keep games organized and tidy for the next player's enjoyment.

Trash bins are located in the garage and will be emptied regularly.

Please ensure all trash, including cardboard, is properly bagged before placing it in these bins.

The home is equipped with the whole-home generate that will activate in the rare event of a power outage. Some parts of the home may work on a reduced load until power is restored.

The pool fireplace is gas and controlled by a remote on the mantle. The living room and basement fireplaces are fully functional, wood-burning and available for your use. However, it should only be operated by those with prior experience. For your safety and to ensure proper usage, please carefully follow these safety instructions:

1. Use Dry, Seasoned Wood: Only burn dry, seasoned wood to minimize smoke and ensure a clean burn.
2. Avoid Overloading: Do not overload the fireplace with too much wood. A small, controlled fire is safer and more efficient.
3. Never Leave Unattended: Never leave the fireplace unattended while a fire is burning. Always extinguish the fire completely before going to bed or leaving the house.
4. Keep a Safe Distance: Ensure all furniture, decorations, and other flammable items are kept at a safe distance from the fireplace.
5. Use Fireplace Tools: Always use the provided fireplace tools to adjust logs or handle ashes.

If you are unsure about any part of operating the fireplace, please refrain from using it and reach out to us for assistance.

Our game room is designed to provide endless entertainment for guests of all ages. It features:

Our indoor heated pool provides a comfortable and enjoyable environment for all guests. To ensure safety and enhance your experience, please adhere to the following guidelines:

Pool Rules:

• Supervision: Children must be actively supervised by an adult at all times while in or near the pool. Designate a responsible adult as a "Water Watcher" to maintain constant vigilance.
• No Running: The pool area can become slippery; please walk to prevent accidents.
• No Diving: For safety reasons, diving is not permitted.
• Food and Drink: Avoid bringing glass containers into the pool area to prevent breakage and potential injury.
• Health Precautions: Refrain from using the pool if you have open wounds or contagious illnesses.

• Pool Towels: Fresh towels are provided in a basket located in the sunroom adjacent to the pool area.

There are outdoor chairs and loungers as well as a hammock to relax in. Cushions are located in the garage. 

A complimentary Level 2 EV charger is available in the garage for your exclusive use. It works with both Tesla and non-Tesla vehicles (J1772 connector), and RV plugs are available as well.

To use it: an authorization card is in the kitchen drawer next to the garbage. Tap the card on the charger to authenticate, then plug in — great for overnight charging.

You may experience snow flurries and the occasional heavy snow accumulation during winter stays. The driveway is plowed automatically once 4 inches of snow has accumulated. A snow shovel can be found in the garage and rock salt for icy conditions can be found in the front hall closet.

Local roads are plowed regularly, roads may be impassable for a few hours during storms. If you don’t have winter driving experience, please take extra care at night and in below-freezing conditions. 

Be careful walking on the decks and walkways in icy conditions.

When booking a home in the countryside, surrounded by lush nature, it’s important to be prepared for encounters with various wildlife. In the evenings, you may notice an abundance of insects. Be cautious with open windows and doors. Additionally, food smells often attract black bears which are known for their curiosity. It’s best to avoid leaving food unattended.

1. Please no smoking of any kind inside the house.
2. Please do not play loud music which could disturb the resident equines.
3. Guests may only access equestrian facilities when accompanied by a Red Fox Stables staff member. Thank you for helping us ensure the safety and comfort of our horses.
4. No parties or events without prior authorization.
5. Excercise caution around the pool and grounds with young children.

One well-behaved and housebroken dog is welcome! A few rules we'd appreciate your help with to minimize the impact of even the most well-intentioned pups:

• Please clean up after your dog and put any waste in a trash bag before departing.
• Please keep dogs off beds & seating areas. Wipe dirty or muddy paws.
• Please bring pet’s crate, bedding, & blankets.
• Guests are responsible for pet-related damage and excessive cleaning.

We understand that sometimes accidents happen! Should you break anything please let us know immediately so we can replace it for the next guest. Thank you!

• Exit the property as quickly as possible
• Ensure that all persons are accounted for
• Dial 911
• Fire Extinguishers are located in the kitchen and laundry room.

For emergency services, call 911. Do not delay if you feel an emergency situation has arisen. State your location as 578 Terrace Mountain Rd.

The Capital Region offers fantastic hiking & outdoor adventures, but it's important to be aware of ticks. Here's how to enjoy the outdoors safely:

Before You Hit the Trails:

• Dress Smart: Wear long pants, long-sleeved shirts, and closed-toe shoes. Tuck your pants into socks for an extra barrier.
• Repel Ticks: Choose an EPA-registered insect repellent containing DEET (20% or higher for adults, 10% or lower for children) and follow directions carefully.
• Be Tick-Savvy: Learn about tick habitats and avoid brushing against tall grass and brush where ticks are more common.

While You Hike:

• Stay on the Path: Sticking to the trail reduces your contact with tick-infested areas.
• Do Quick Checks: Throughout your hike, take a moment to scan your clothes and exposed skin for ticks.

After Your Adventure:

• Shower ASAP: A hot shower within 2 hours of being outdoors can help wash away unattached ticks.
• Full Body Check: Carefully examine yourself, children, and pets for ticks, paying close attention to warm, moist areas.
